How I Found My Purpose...

My journey on this path started in the fall of 2014.

I took a look at my life and saw that despite accomplishing a number of successes, I kept stumbling back into habits that were taking me further away from the life that I wanted.

My professional success masked my personal, spiritual and psychological failures.

I was not in control of my life. I had mastered college, mastered law school and the Bar exam, and moved up in the professional world at a rapid pace. But as I became more successful in business, I realized that to be the best I could be, I had to master myself.

It was then that I challenged myself to transform from being self-hating, depressed, addicted and anxious to being happy, joyous, centered and fulfilled. I chose to think positively, I chose to set higher goals for myself, and I chose to commit to the processes that each goal came with. I changed my inner dialogue and embraced new thought patterns.

Once I was free to objectively review my life, I realized if I had to choose a life today, I wouldn't choose this one. I had been so focused on success and achievement that I hadn't given much thought to my happiness and fulfillment. Even more, I was limited in my thinking. I had accepted what seemed possible for me, rather than embracing my ideal life and committing to building that.

After connecting with a life coach, I started to entertain the idea that I could have anything I wanted and I could be my most authentic self and still be accepted. So I asked myself, "What do I really want? And who do I want to be?" Through this process, I rediscovered my deep love and appreciation for nature, I learned that I could serve people in a deeper and more authentic way, and I decided to make joy my purpose.

It's not that I'm a new person; it's that I'm more me than I've ever been.

Breaking and replacing those long entrenched and self-defeating habits required me to develop a new plan. I dared to create the kind of life that I wanted to live. Those old habits were distractions from my true self. I had to make a decision to go for exactly what I wanted out of life, and to be exactly who I wanted to be, and pursue that vigorously.

At times my journey was lonely and confused, but ultimately I found freedom through cultivating gratitude, self-love, forgiveness and faith! It was on this journey that I discovered my true passion and purpose.

I discovered that I love to help people.

I found time and time again, that people were able to find hope and guidance from hearing about my challenges and learning about the steps that I took to get to where I am today.

Throughout this time, I grew my lobbying firm into a six-figure business and was making the most money I had ever made, on my own terms. Except, not entirely. I had made all of these realizations about by life internally, but hadn't set out to make them a reality. I was still building the courage truly leave what I had built behind. After starting my career as a speaker and coach, and constantly telling people they could live the life they wanted, I realized that there was an incongruity in my message and my life because I was standing on the same platform I had built but wanted to leave.

I realized that in order to be a true leader, I had to go first. I had to walk the talk.

In may of 2017, I decided to go all in: I canceled all my lobbying contracts, packed my things, and by September I was living two blocks from the beach in San Diego, speaking full-time, and surfing everyday.

It wasn't easy, but it was worth it.

My life today is totally unrecognizable from what it was. And I would have it no other way. I know the power of the work that I do because I was my first client. And my life has transformed for the better, forever. There is no going back.

This is my journey. This is my story. My purpose is to serve you and help you achieve the breakthroughs that I've experienced and that I know you can, too.
